Originally from Michigan, Seamus attended school for graphic design before discovering his true passion for hair. With his ever-changing hair color and determined attitude, Seamus fit right in at the Aveda institute. “I felt like I was home”, he recalls. Seamus quickly discovered that attending beauty school was his purpose. “Doing hair for me was like a light went off”.
After graduation, Seamus was offered and accepted an education position at Aveda in North Carolina. For two years he enjoyed teaching others and giving back to the community that he himself grew in. Even so, his love for his family and his longing to be closer to them took him back to Ohio. There he took on a position at Jacob Neil. “They taught me so much. Everyone was so passionate about doing hair”.
His passion to advance in editorial work brought him to Chicago and soon after, Solo Salon. In addition to styling and color, music is another passion of Seamus’s. “Music is my inspiration for everything". Seamus is also an avid “Pinner” with boards committed to music and art on Pinterest, inspiring him as a hairstylist and an individual.
Seamus enjoys creating transformations through both cut and color. A few of his favorite styles include precision cutting and A-line bobs, as well as natural color. Currently a Nioxin educator, Seamus also enjoys helping people regain the integrity of their scalp and hair thickness.
Even with 10 years of experience in styling, Seamus continues to grow and learn. His hope and mission for his work is to provide his clients with the tools to take styling their hair from the chair to home. “I believe my job as a stylists isn’t done when a client leaves my chair, my job is done when a client can come back and recreate their look”.
